I went out to scope out some spots I found within a few miles of my house on Google Maps, with the help of my GPS. I got stopped in a line at the first grade crossing I wanted to hit while a rail truck was being lined onto the rails. I'd never actually seen that before. And while they were lining it, a train passed, but I couldn't get out of my car to shoot it.
I did, however, manage to chase the rail truck up to the next grade crossing and shoot it there.
I also found out that an abandoned bridge that I shot from before is only a few miles away. I went over there, and while looking west, a big freight snuck up on me from the east, masked by the wind. It was headed by a new BNSF engine painted in their new "Nike Swoosh" logo. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to line up a good side angle before the train was approaching too quickly, and the bridge is kind of dangerous and I didn't want to move around without carefully looking where I was going.
As the train passed the bridge, I saw the rail truck approaching from the west, so I took some more shots of it.
